Went into a mitsubishi dealer today, test-drove new lancer and liked it. The price they quoted us was 20,115 with 0.0% interest. We said we’d go home to “think about it.” Now, need tips as how to get this number lower. We’ve heard people say to find a better price online or simply to just state a number for them to match, take it or leave it.
My plan was to make them give us both ’special offers’ they have going on right now. It’s either 0.0% apr or 1500 rebate, but i was thinking about forcing them to do both, or else we leave.
Sidenote: The manager said he was very flexible and willing to change the price once we know for sure we’re going to buy the car. I know it’s just a marketing trick, but it seems there might be some leeway.

Tell them that you seen the same car and talked to another dealer (one that’s not affiliated with that dealer), and tell him they offered both. Then ask could he beat what there offering. Also you could tell him that your looking at a different car like a Toyota or Honda or something and tell him some fake story about what there offering.
