Email marketing could arguably be replacing direct mail marketing. Companies can buy databases full of email address targeting the people they want to reach… for example within a particular region, or only doctors. Then companies send out email blasts to those email addresses. It can be effective, but the problems lie in SPAM guards, Junk Mail filters, etc…
YES, it is real I think. It’s called SPAM which is against the law unless if receiver have requested and agree to receive unsolicited email/newsletters or receiver may ask you to pay up to $5 per email by federal law.
